Greetings! We are the Humboldt FogDogs, a paintball team based in the Eureka area of coastal Northern California, about 90 miles south of the Oregon border. We're all experienced players with a real passion for playing woodsball. Almost every weekend, we play in the dense redwood forests that this area, Humboldt County, is known for. We've also traveled to scenario paintball events throughout California and Southern Oregon. 

Wild started the FogDogs in 2004. The team has been playing continously since then, with some individual team member changes along the way. 

In 2007 we decided to get serious and improve our skills.  We worked up a tactical manual and started having regular practice drills. We increased the level of sophistication of our woodsball gear, including our communication equipment.  As often as we can, we travel to scenario events to play against other paintballers from around the country--and have a great time! 

In recent weeks, the FogDogs have added three more recruits and are currently looking to expand the size of our team even more. We are always on the lookout for dedicated, reliable paintball players to join us in our passionate pursuit of paintball. Frankly, we have had a lot of people show up and then drop the whole idea when they realize how much we FogDogs expect of each other. 

We decided long ago that quality was more important than quantity. We've found that our small team stands up well against larger teams of players who are less dedicated to enhancing their game. It's about individual skill, yes--but working as a cohesive, well-organized team is also important.

If you think you are FogDog material and are willing to make the kind of commitment necessary to play on this team, contact us.  When the FogDogs spot players with the kind of talent and dedication that we are looking for, we invite those players onto the team as recruits.  In many ways this is like a probationary period where we judge how these new players fit in and whether their interest in paintball is up to our standards.

What does it take to be a FogDog?

A paintball player displaying the Humboldt FogDog emblem must possess some essential qualities and convictions.

A FogDog:

1. is experienced, well equipped, aggressive, and especially lethal when playing in thick cover;
2. believes that playing as part of a team makes for a better, stronger player;
3. wants to win and will do anything within the rules to make sure that happens;
4. never cheats, illegally wipes paint, or argues with a referee;
5. is concerned about safety and making sure that no one gets hurt;
6. always tries to help less-experienced players and answer their questions;
7. never leaves a teammate behind; and
8. absolutely loves playing the game of paintball.
